Growing Tobacco with Insta-Gro

  1. A good soil test is number one and should include a water soluble test plus trace elements.
  2. Have soil in greenhouse in good condition. Healthy soil grows healthy plants. Foliar feed with Insta-Gro 9-18-9, (mixed 1 to 50) every 10 days to 2 weeks. One week before lifting apply one application of 3-18-18 this will harden plants for transplanting.
  3. When transplanting use 1 to 50 ratio of Insta-Gro 9-18-9.
  4. No two growers use the same fertilizer program, some use dry plus liquid, each farmer had his own opinion.

Here at Insta-Gro we realize that quality counts in tobacco, quality equals profit. Apply 2 to 5 gal of Insta-Cal plus 3 gal Insta-Sul per acre. Work in lightly. Use 7 to 15 gal of 3-18-18 side dress. Use 3 to 4 gal of 9-18-9 at pre bud. Use 4 to 5 gal 3-18-18 after topping for quality and maturing. Use Nit as recommended per rates of soil test.

Option 2: Use some dry before planting plus transplanting solution and foliar feed.

Note on Foliar feeding:

Apply a fine mist and always, I mean always, spray in the evening. Adjust nozzle so that spray floats over crop. Absorption is much greater and you do not burn the leaves.
