Sugar Beets Program
Early planting of sugar
beets requires an in-row application of Insta-Gro liquid plant food to help
start the young plants. The enormous tonnage grown during the season requires
continuous applications to assure a full and profitable crop plus higher
sugar content.
At planting time apply 3 to 5 gallons of 9-18-9+1 in the row for a fast start. At the same time, deep place 8 to 10 gallons of 9-18-9+1.
Note: Total gallons that are soil applied may all be placed below the seed. When plants are 6" to 8" high foliar feed 2 gallons of Insta-Cal. When palnts are 12" to 14" high apply 3 to 5 gallons of 9-18-9.
Apply final Foliar feeding of 3 to 5 gallons per acre of 3-18-18+1 or Insta-Cal about ten days to two weeks before harvesting, to increase sugar content.
Note: For the ultimate in sugar beet production, follow all current soil test.
