For melons, cucumbers, pumpkins, squash, etc. use 8 to 15 gallons of 9-18-9+1 or 10-10-10+1deep laced at planting time. When plants are 6" high, foliar spray 2 gallons per acre of 9-18-9+1 or 15-5-5=1 and repeat every 10 days. Be certain to include sprays at blossom and fruit set stages. Increase quantity of plant food when vines begin to bear and foliage feed through harvest time.
Reported pickle and cucumbers yield increases from 175 to 250 more bushels per acre.
For added quality and firmness of fruit use Insta-Gro 3-18-18+1 on last spray. This will sweeten the melons, give your pumpkins better color, and better keeping quality on squash.
