Growing Cotton on the Insta-Gro Program
Number one ! A good soil test from a reliable lab. Testing for all elements, including Sul, Cal, trace elements and a water soluble test. Midwest Labs in Omaha, NB does a good job.
Soil apply 8 to 10 gal 9-18-9 at first square. Foliar at two week intervals with 4 to 5 gal 9-18-9 below the seed.
Foliar feed 2 to 3 gal 9-18-9 at first square. Foliar feed at two week intervals with 4 to 5 gal 9-18-9. Last spray could be 3-18-18 or 2-0-24-16.
Note: Insta-Gro 9-18-9 may be used right on the seed at 3 gal per acre.
Cotton is a heavy user of Potash when squares are developing, you may use 2-0-24-16 pr 3-18-18 as alternate sprays.
The above program is to be used with standard nitrogen program.
Insta-Gro's Liquid Cal is also being used on Cotton with good results.
Total results on this program is 1/2 to 1-1/2 more bales per acre.
