Residue Digested

Shorten the time that it take Mother Nature to ReEnergize your soil!

Every year, at the end of the growing season, we farmers leave hundreds and thousands of pounds of nutrient-packed natural fertilizer laying atop our fields in the form of plant residues.  Eventually, in fall or early spring we disc or plow our leftover residues into the soil expecting the organic matter to decompose and feed its natural nutrients to our new crops.  Shame on us for expecting Mother Nature to work by our clock, instead of us working by hers!

Agronomists know that decomposition of the organic matter in plant residues is just natures first step in forming a nitrogen rich, high phosphorus and sulphur content substance called Humus.  And it's the Humus in your soil that feeds your plants throughout the growing season.

Humus is the organic matter in our soil that has naturally decomposed into nutrients.  And while agronomists don't agree on how to measure the amount of Humus in the soil, they all agree that Humus not only provides the soil with nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulphur, it also has 3 to 4 times the capacity to hold other nutrients and water that falls on the soil than soils seemingly absent of Humus.  The very existing of Humus in the soil means the water and nutrients it holds are available to plants for extended periods throughout the growing season.  The more Humus in the soil, the more moisture that's held in storage between rains, and the more nutrients are held to be released to the plant, throughout the growing season.

The undeniable fact is that Humus stores and releases 95% of the nitrogen, 60% of the phosphorus, and 98%of the sulphur available to crops throughout the growing season.

Humus helps make nutrients more soluble and available to plants, because microorganismic activity during warmer months release nutrients at the time the plant needs them most.  Natural acids in Humus also slowly dissolve soil material, which return release additional nutrients.  And there's more.  Humus also contains substances that resist pests and diseases, make s soil crumbly and pourous, reduces wind and water erosion, leaving the soil easier to work.  Humus buffers the soil and protects plants from high salt levels, toxic chemicals, and drastic changes in the soils pH.

Nature Needs Time To Make Humus.  Farmers Don't Have Time To Wait!

Nature is perfect.  You'll get no argument from any of us on that point.  She's provided us with plant residues and manure, the best two natural dressings ever made to decompose and eventually revitalize the soil.  But it takes nature longer period of time to decompose plant residues into organic matter - and organic matter into Humus - that the few short months between growing seasons.  So who can wait?  There are leases, loans and bank notes to pay, and Mother Nature in all her glory is not a willing co-signer!

Now you can energize Mother Nature With Insta-Gro's Residue Digester!

America's pioneers had the answer for speeding up the clock on Mother Nature.  They would burn their crop residues, melting it into the soil so they could enjoy the benefits of these natural nutrients their crops needed.  We don't recommend you try burning today.  It's environmentally unpopular, and factually a short term answer to a long term problem.  And after years and years of our extracting and killing natural ingredients and living organisms from the soil in an effort to grow crops, we've robbed nature of some of her best tools.

Today, Insta-Gro of Caledonia has a better, more natural, environmentally safer way to assist regeneration of the soil than just dumping more and more fertilizer in it.  We've developed an exciting new, natural Residue Digester, that speeds nature along in its efforts to decompose plant residue into organic matter and the vital Humus that results from the decomposition.

When you apply Insta-Gro's Residue Digester in the fall disc or plow etc., the residue into the surface of your soil (which you do anyway).  No till farmer lightly disc so stalks are broken and come in contact with the soil, filing it with faster reacting organic matter that will result in the vital Humus you need to sustain your crops throughout the next growing season.

You'll worry less about fertilizer and moisture, because you'll bet your farm on the best soil you, Insta Gro, and Mother Nature can regenerate between growing seasons.  And it's all a natural process that's good for the environment, and your soil.  And the better the soil, the better the crop!

Here is how nature works to reenergize your soil

1.Man removes crops from fields leaving plant residues and manure on the surface

5.Plants grow after feeding from Humus in the soil.

2.Plant residues and manure decompose into organic matter into the soil

4.Microorganisms become the Humus that feeds plants nutrients and water throughout the growing season

3.Decomposed organic matter becomes natures microorganisms.

Rates of Application:

Corn:

150 bushels per acre
6000 lbs residue per acre use 10 gallons per acre

100 bushels per acre
4500 lbs residue per acre use 8 gallons per acre

Soybeans:

40 - 50 bushels per acre
2000 lbs residue per acre use 4 - 6 gallons per acre

Oats, Wheat, Milo, Canola, etc.:

3000 lbs residue per acre use 6 - 8 gallon per acre

NOTE:For every ton of residue apply 2.5 - 3.5 gallons residue digester per acre.

NOTE:Add water to make total coverage of 18 - 20 gallons per acres
