Insta-Cal Plus

The growing of crops in today's agriculture takes vast amounts of nutrients. One of the majors areas where it is needed is calcium. Over the years calcium, however, has taken a back seat to it's brothers - phosphorous, potassium, and nitrogen. Where soil tests show a shortage of calcium, the application of this element can be mean as much as 20 to 50% increase in yields.

One of the problems with applying a dry calcium is the slow availabilty to the crop. This is the major reason for the introduction of INSAT-CAL-PLUS - to give the grower an immediate source of calcium for the crop in the year he applies it.

INSAT-CAL-Plus is in the category in efficiency as Insta-Gro Plant Food. It is made from the highest grade of chelating materials available. The complexing agent used in INSTA-CAL-Plus is a 7-carbon glucoheptonate which is an organic chelating agent derived from corn and wood products. We are all aware that nitrogen flows free through the soil. By using nitrogen in the calcium solution, it flows readily through the soil and is immediately available to growing crops.

The applicator used is any type of field nitrogen applicator corn or bean equipment or aircraft. The application rate will depend on the soil test. Lime contains somewhere between 450 - 950 pounds of calcium carbonate per ton. Three to four gallons per arce of INSTA-CAL-Plus will generate the equivalent of 1,500 pounds of calcium carbonate per acre. After the initial application, it is a sound practice to apply 1 to 2 gallons every year. INSTA-CAL-PLUS can be applied by itself or can be mixed with most herbicides, liquid nitrogen or ammonium thio sulphate.

Insta-Gro Liquid Calcium can be applied with

• Most all pre-emerge herbicides
• Sidedressed with 28% to 32% nitrogen
• Applied foliar at lower rates
• Applied with water as a straight application
